Water Conservation & Supply Projects

To meet the requirements of inmates of the Ashram, Cows, Vridh Bhakat Niwas, Meditation Centre, Ayurvedic Dispensary, Farming, Afforestation , etc, 3 tubewells have been constructed in the area. To take water to the nearby rural community & also for irrigating afforestation projects where piped water supply is not there, few water tankers of required capacity have been procured. Water is distributed free of charge in the nearby rural community, through these tankers. Apart from this, water is taken to consumption points through piped water supply system. For conservation of rain water & for cows & rural community, one pond named as ‘Brahmrishi Devaraha Baba Gau Sarovar’ existing for long, has been got renovated by the trust & two more major ponds are under construction for use of cows & for general public. Water in these ponds is drinkable & matches many parameters of water of Gangaji which flows by Vindhyachal. Devotees consider them as sacred & trust takes requisite measures to maintain them regularly. Vindhyachal is located in dry & drought prone zone & suffers from inadequate availability of water in most part of the year for household & agricultural consumption etc. The trust under the leadership of reverend Babaji attaches great importance for development, conservation & economical use of water resources & is always looking for enhancing & maintaining water supply for the rural community & afforestation etc. Major projects are being formulated by trust for water conservation & development in the area under its management control & with local participation.

Construction,maintenance and operation of gaushalas

Cow has always been a creature of central importance in India and more so in rural India , both from economic and spiritual viewpoints. All products of Indian Desi cows i.e Milk ,Cow Dung, Cow urine etc are useful for rural economy and cows provide gainful employment opportunities and income to rural households.Apart from economic and material utility of cows, they are of great spiritual importance.Cow is an perfect embodiment of Parmartha i,e. all organs and products of cows are economically and spiritually used by others-mainly human beings.Whereas human being live for themselves ,the cow lives for the human society.Cow is rightly considered as mother and not an animal in traditional Indian society.

Saints attach great importance to service of cow in a selfless manner for attaining higher goals of life . Services rendered in gaushalas maintained by Mahayogis and great saints are even more rewarding.Astrologers prescribe cow service as a powerful remedial measure to reduce human sufferings caused by adverse planetary positions and past karmas.Brahmrishi Devaraha baba used to maintain a Gaushala in Vindhayachal Ashram Premises.

The trust headed by Brahmavetta Shri Devaraha Hans Baba has not only maintained this Gaushala , it has constructed two more gaushalas to accommodate increased number of cows. For stocking the food of cows , a big go-down for Bhusa has been constructed and required arrangements have been made for water , cleaning , electricity etc for these gaushals .Green food for the cows is produced in the farm land of Ashram itself and what can not be produced locally is procured from outside .It is planned to make the gaushalas etc self-sufficient in near future.Sufficient area of land is being acquired for movement and grazing for constantly increasing number of cows. With the scientific management of Gaushalas, the number of desi cows has increased considerably and it stands now at 1000 or so in the ashram.Bulk of the milk is used for feeding the calves and part quantity taken out for human consumption is used in the Ashram premises but milk, curd , ghee etc is never sold commerically.Gobar (cow dung) is used for generating gobar gas and cow dung cakes (used as fuel in kitchen) for uses in kitchen of the Vridh Bhakt Niwas and enitre ashram.Cow products are also used for preparation of Ayurvedic products which are distributed free of cost to the needy visitors.

Babaji attaches highest importance to service of cows and increase in number of desi cows i.e a purely spiritual creature is considered extremely vital for survival of earth as a planet and for human society. This place hallowed by Tapasya of great mahayogis for last thousands of years, will definitely exist and grow as a center for survival of vibrant human and other lives in the context of all talks of impending disasters due to disturbances in the ecological balance or in the solar system.Planning span for Trikaaldarshi yogis who can see past present and future is not 5 , 10 , 15 or 20 years but thousands of years and projects for construction and operation of gaushala in this holy area will be a boon for the entire humanity in troubled times . All the great saints including current spiritual head i.e Brahmavetta Shri Devaraha Hans Baba who have lived here, have been greatest mahayogis and trikaldarshi yogis who have provided great relief to suffering humanity through their Darshan , message and immortal deeds. There is a very intimate relationship between these cows and mahayogis and importance of Ashram Gaushalas needs to be appreciated in this context.

VRIDH BHAKT NIWAS

The old age home comprising of 108 rooms was approved by Government of India as a project for extending tax benefits on contributions made to it by individual / institutional donors. Aim of this project is to provide shelter, food and healthcare services to the old age persons. All these services are provided completely free of cost and to all without any discrimination on grounds of caste, creed, religion, language, economic status, etc. More than 50 % of the beneficiaries come from weaker sections of society having income lower than Rs.18,000/- year.

These facilities are only part complete and cover only 81 rooms. 27 rooms are to be constructed now with all internal and external services to complete the project. Partly completed home provides for a kitchen which is fuelled by Gobar Gas Plant adjoining it. Entire kitchen fuel requirement is met from Gobar Gas – a non-conventional and green fuel. The home has its own drinking water arrangements & electricity is obtained from State Electricity Board. The home equipped with these services will become fully operational after construction of balance 27 rooms.

These facilities have been used for organizing three major surgery camps where teams of doctors from Delhi visited Vindhyachal in last 3 years. More than 1000 poor patients got benefit of completely free and effective surgery. Such camps are regularly organized at these facilities frequently.

GOBAR GAS PLANT

The trust has set up a Gobar Gas Plant in vicinity of the Vridh Bhakt Niwas. Feedstock for this plant i.e. Gobar comes from a Goshala, where more than 1000 cows reside as of now. This Goshala was established by one of the greatest saints of India Brahmrishi Shri Devaraha Baba, long time back. Residue left after extraction of Gobar Gas, are used as Bio-fertiliser in the farming done by the organization in its premises. No artificial fertilizers are used in farming and most of the vegetables and cereals requirement for Vridh Bhakt Niwas residents is met locally in an environment friendly manner.

DHYAN YOGA KENDRA

It is a three storey structure comprising of three big halls – one at each floor in addition to vast roof area. Basic structure of this facility has been constructed and flooring, finishing, furnishing, parking and other external services are to be constructed now. After completion of the project, these facilities will be used for Meditation, Yoga etc. to establish harmony between visitors and nature. Harmony between man and nature has got disturbed because of lopsided emphasis on development of material side of our existence. These facilities are to be used for ensuring balanced and integrated development of human personality in harmony with nature and society.

AYURVEDIC DISPENSARY

Pending completion of the project for Dhyan Yog Kendra & Ayurvedic Dispensary, the trust has started a make-shift dispensary for treatment of rural patients through Ayurvedic mode of health case. A large number of persons from nearby areas and other visitors come to the dispensary for obtaining preventive and curative Ayurvedic treatment. These services are well received and are provided free of charge to all patients irrespective of their social and economic status. However most of the patients come from poorer strata of society having income less than Rs.18000/- year. A qualified vaidya is deployed for prescribing and dispensing Ayurvedic Medicines. With the construction of a regular Ayurvedic Dispensary and operationalization of Dhyan Yog Kendra, a more integrated health care system covering Medication, Yoga and Ayurvedic etc. would be introduced and developed vigorously for welfare of all visitors to the Ashram.
